Wilson's Warbler (Cardellina pusilla)

Wilson's Warblers are small, energetic songbirds that are both charming and ecologically important. Recognizable by the male’s bright yellow plumage and distinctive black cap, these warblers breed in shrubby or riparian habitats across North America and migrate as far south as Central America for the winter. Despite their delicate appearance, Wilson's Warblers undertake long migrations twice a year, often traveling thousands of miles. They primarily feed on insects and other small invertebrates, helping to control pest populations. Their presence is also a valuable indicator of healthy ecosystems, especially in riparian and montane environments.

I absolutely love this photo. I feel like it really represents the animal in its habitat.
